I am an employee here at Chilton for almost 17 years. I came into the ER one day with my sister who had a seizure. My sister is a 47-year-old with Downs Syndrome. She always receives amazing care from everyone as this was not the 1st time she had been admitted. There are so many nurses that I could and do thank that have helped my sister out tremendously with her past visits, but this nurse, in particular, stands out to me.
Kenna, almost every day for weeks even after my sister was discharged, continued to ask me how my sister was feeling. My sister was in the process of moving into a group home at that time and Kenna just always seemed to care about that even and how that process was going! The compassion she had for my sister while she was in the ER was indescribable. I can just tell she truly cares from her heart. Compassion like this means the world to someone like me who has a family member with a disability. You never forget them.
