Kennedi looked at my wife, also with tears in her eyes, and said, "Everything is going to be fine, she's with the best team." Although incredibly overwhelmed, I felt a strong sense of reassurance.
Throughout all of the craziness of our first hospital stay with our newborn, we were constantly reminded how grateful we were to be in the best hospital for our daughter's care. The first procedure she went through was immensely overwhelming for us. I vividly remember my wife in tears as they rolled our daughter out of the room. It was at that moment, Kennedi looked at my wife, also with tears in her eyes, and said, "Everything is going to be fine, she's with the best team." Although incredibly overwhelmed, I felt a strong sense of reassurance. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, Kennedi was our nurse multiple days. We were always a little extra excited when we saw her name on the board! Before transitioning home, we moved to another floor. It was going okay until our baby had another episode and had to come back to W3 a couple of days later. I know they called in a nurse to come to take care of her, but I didn't know who. We couldn't help but be overcome with happy tears when we found out...it was Kennedi. Just through conversation, we happened to find out that day was her wedding anniversary. Honestly, I kind of felt bad, but she was so kind to us and said she was happy to come in and take care of our daughter. The fact that she was so giving of herself to take care of our baby - no words could say "thank you" enough. Now a couple of weeks later back in the hospital again, we both said "I hope Kennedi is our nurse at some point". She was, and we were thrilled. Kennedi is always genuinely asking how we are really doing and keeping us in the loop. She is kind, compassionate, and clearly loves what she does. We love Kennedi!
