Kennedy provided an outstanding amount of quality care with compassion, kindness, and respect every second.
My wife and I recently gave birth to our identical twin boys at Arnot Hospital at the end of May, 2023. Our story began through the CNY fertility clinic, going through Invitro-Fertilization, and my wife carrying my embryo. After 7 attempts of trying to get pregnant and finally succeeding, we spent our entire pregnancy worrying, seeing a specialist every 2 weeks due to having identical twins that shared a placenta, with many risks being ahead of us.

My wife was absolutely terrified of having a C-Section, but all of the care that we received from the moment we stepped through the door at Arnot that morning was amazing and made us feel much better. Unfortunately, during the C-Section, due to complications with extra fluid with the twins, my wife lost a lot of blood and her vitals dropped to an extremely scary level. It took extra medication and a blood transfusion to stabilize her an hour later.

Going into the post-labor care floor was extremely unsettling for both of us, because my wife was still out of it, and actually was the entire time we were in the hospital the next 3 days, and we had these 2 beautiful baby boys to care for.

We then met our night nurse, Kennedy. Although every nurse we met those three days was amazing, there was something different about her. You could see the passion in her eyes for her job and although it was her job, being there to take care of us, it never once felt like she was just “doing her job”. Kennedy provided an outstanding amount of quality care with compassion, kindness, and respect every second. We were lucky to have her both nights we stayed. There are several examples that stand out, but the one that sticks in my head is when my wife was in the bathroom, in tears at 3 am one night, in very bad conditions due to her body being in shock from the blood loss and hormone crash form delivering twins. Both babies were crying and were very frustrated because they were hungry, but my wife was unavailable to help. I called for our nurse and the aide came in to politely say Kennedy just went on break but she would let her know of our status. 2 minutes later Kennedy was at the bathroom door with a smile, and calmly said she was “here to stay and help, until everyone was okay”. She first took care of my wife and helped her calm down, and even made her laugh. She then took our babies and promised to take care of them so we could get an hour or two of sleep since we hadn’t slept in over 24 hours. We then slept hard and woke up about 1.5 hours later to Kennedy bringing our newborns back into our room, with them safe and sound and another smile on her face.

I was so impressed with Kennedy, working in the healthcare field myself, I know sometimes it’s hard to give your 100% all, especially on long shifts.

Kennedy gave us more than 100% of herself, the entire time she was in our room. Anyone who has her as a nurse is extremely lucky and will always be in good hands. Kennedy showed nothing less but compassion, and we are so thankful she took care of us.
