When Kennedy came to get me to take me back to the OR, she was extremely polite and upbeat.
I’m a physician at PMC, but I underwent a cholecystectomy and got to see the patient side of things. Despite this being a relatively simple procedure, I have anxiety at baseline, and I was extremely nervous while waiting in pre-op holding. When Kennedy came to get me to take me back to the OR, she was extremely polite and upbeat. She could obviously tell I was quite nervous. Without hesitation, she asked if she could lead a prayer with my wife and me for an uneventful surgery. This immediately put me at ease. Her high level of compassion continued into the OR, where she continued to make sure I was relaxed.

While I was under anesthesia, she updated my wife multiple times throughout the procedure, ensuring she remained calm and informed. I believe Kennedy should receive the DAISY Award without a doubt because she exemplified our hospital's mission statement and values by providing outstanding care with Christian faith as the foundation. Being both a physician and a patient in this instance, I have a unique viewpoint as to what qualities a DAISY Award Honoree should exhibit. Kennedy is a perfect example of this, and I pray that if my family or friends are ever in need of healthcare again that she is part of the team!
