When we "Woke" up, we were greeted by Kenny. I cannot describe this gentleman other than an outgoing, compassionate, full-of-grace nurse that the world needs more of. Kenny was somehow able to take the terrible situation that we were in and knew what the outcome was going to be very early on and help our family handle it better. We were able to walk out of the room and knew that Kenny would do everything he could.

In the following moments of our family making the decision to move my father to comfort care, to stop monitoring him, and to stop medical interventions, Kenny took the time to clean my father up. He washed his face and cleaned up his mouth where at some point in time he had bitten his lip. Kenny even took the time to wash my father’s hair to get as much of the EEG lead glue out if it as he could. He did not have to do this, but he did, and the amount of grace, dignity, compassion, and care that it took for this young man to do this, far exceeded any and all expectations that we had from him.

I would love to shake Kenny's hand one more time and let him know how much we appreciate him, and to never stop being that person. The world could really use more Kenny's.
