This act of heroism is typical for Nurse Mah as he often selflessly puts the needs of his patients and the community first demonstrating highly compassionate care to all.
The EMS crews overheard the screaming of bystanders and noticed the house across the street had an apparent fire condition with smoke coming from the dwelling’s 3rd floor. As it was known that our neighbors have many small children; 3 EMTs and Nurse Kenny Mah entered the structure and provided primary notification to the occupants. These prompt notifications facilitate roughly 14 people and animals being safely removed from the structure and served as a pre-notification for the Newark Fire Department. Given the proximity to our station, all staff members contributed to the relocation of vehicles to an adjacent parking lot providing continuity of operations and a flawless crew change. Further, our complex was used as a shelter for our neighbors until their apartments were deemed safe to occupy and the field crews provided blankets for warmth and ice cream for the children distracting them from the event. This act of heroism is typical for Nurse Mah as he often selflessly puts the needs of his patients and the community first demonstrating highly compassionate care to all.
