Over the years Kenova has bought different items for the patients: shampoo, conditioner, detangler, combs, brushes, as well as food for the patient and/or families.
Kenova has worked faithfully for Harlan ARH for 24 years. During that time she has maintained a caring professional relationship with her patients as well as their families. She puts the patient first. I have never seen her show any frustration with any patient. She demonstrates extreme patience with the patients. I have seen her (even though she was behind in her work) stay with a patient holding their hand and comforting them (confused patients and/or dying as well as patients that were scared). She did not want them to die alone. She keeps families informed of any changes. She helps the other staff with their patients as well.

Over the years she has bought different items for the patients: shampoo, conditioner, detangler, combs, brushes, as well as food for the patient and/or families. She even bought some shoes and clothes for a child (barefoot and coatless) that had come to visit. The other nurses rely on her knowledge and expertise. The physicians even call her from other units to come help with procedures. I have never seen her being argumentative with staff members in the hospital or raise her voice. She helps in any way she can. She has donated lots of her PTO hours to people that have been out of work. She shows compassion to employees that have family members to die and gives them well thought out little gifts and cards and I can tell it really means a lot to that person (this includes staff members outside of ICU). I have witnessed her coming in with bags from where she had stopped at food city; it was for the whole staff to use for lunch as well as anyone else that wanted to eat. I have seen her on multiple occasions bring in snack foods for the staff. She always participates in the program Angel Tree.
