I was miscarrying at home, almost 17 weeks along. After I delivered, my placenta would not come. I started bleeding a lot, and I called L&D. Kensington answered the phone. She calmly walked me through what I needed to do and assured me she would personally walk to the ER to make sure they were ready for me. She stayed on the phone with me the whole time, reassuring me that I was doing the right thing, that I was strong, and that she was here to help every step of the way. I arrived shortly after at the ER, and they were ready for me.

After a long night in the ER and undergoing a D&C, she came to check on me the next morning in the mom and baby ward. Her empathy, care, and follow-through made a positive impression on what was, quite honestly, the worst day of my life. I’ll never forget her and the kindness she gave me. I felt like a real person who mattered, and she made me feel like my baby mattered too. She is a special person, and she deserves all the good things in the world. She helped me stay calm amid what felt like so much uncertainty. She followed through on my care even though I wasn’t her patient. Her calm voice got me through.

Thank you, Kensington, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
