Kenson Mathew Thomas has shown exceptional dedication to advancing health equity through environmental health initiatives. Recognizing that environmental conditions greatly affect community well-being, he worked to ensure that vulnerable and underserved populations have access to clean, safe, and healthy surroundings. When Kenson Thomas noticed that residents in Qatar were unaware of the issues linked to electronic waste management, he collaborated with local health agencies (Reyada Medical Center) to launch an Environmental Health Awareness and Screening Program for the disposal of E-waste. This initiative provided free awareness about the disposal of e-waste, health education, and preventive resources to society. Kenson Mathew Thomas also advocated for sustainable practices within the hospital, helping reduce waste and promote green healthcare operations—showing that environmental responsibility is an essential part of equitable care. Through compassion, advocacy, and action, Kenson Mathew Thomas has made a lasting impact on both patients and the environment, truly embodying the DAISY Health Equity Award’s mission to promote fairness, health, and dignity for all.
