Kent Cheramie

Kent is an active participant and leader in his class. He is currently the CARE 2023 SNA Vice President and CARE 2023 Treasurer During his time in clinical care, he was deeply concerned while caring for a patient with pancreatic cancer and her pain. He was an assertive advocate for this patient's pain as he was routinely assessing it and realized the current regime was not relieving her pain. He advocated for the patient with her attending physician and his preceptor to get a change in pain medication and frequency that did relieve her pain. The patient was so very grateful and thanked him every time he came into the room. He is deeply caring for patients and their families. We were all moved by his story about this in our clinical conference. He was a role model for advocacy for our group!
