Kenya Wallace, LPN
Kenya has been wonderful since the start of her shift today. Unfortunately, my experience changed when I had a negative interaction with someone. My parents and Kenya witnessed a part of the interaction.
Afterward, we sent a message through the patient portal. Kenya promptly spoke with Rebecca, the charge nurse, and both of them came to my room within 30 minutes of the person leaving to discuss what had occurred. Kenya even brought a box of tissues while we talked about how upsetting and hurtful the interaction had been.
Following that encounter, I wanted to leave the hospital. Their comments made me feel dismissed. However, Kenya’s compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern—along with the charge nurse's support—helped me feel heard and cared for during an incredibly difficult situation. Their kindness made a meaningful difference and is the reason I felt comfortable remaining at the hospital.
