I have had the privilege and honor of getting to watch Keri grow as a PICU nurse. She is compassionate, gentle, loving and attentive. She always goes above and beyond for her patients. Earlier this fall we had a patient in the PICU who was here for many weeks and before he was able to go home, Keri orchestrated a field trip for him. He wanted so badly to go outside, but had been on Bipap forever. Keri worked with RT and after he was weaned down enough to go she helped this patient get to the Koi pond outside. He was so happy. The patient's father was able to go and they took pictures that this father will be able to keep forever. She has also been mentioned on our own internal internet by a family for reading stories to their sick child and taking the time to give the TLC that they could not give while away at work. We are lucky to have Keri in the PICU, she makes every person smile.
