Kerri
Sheehy
,
BSN, RN
Kerri deserves recognition for exemplifying a positive and professional nurse in her role as charge in the ICU. She consistently comes to our meetings and greets all each time with "hello friends," and before the meeting is adjourned, she checks in to offer her assistance for any of the other units.
When responding to our unit for emergent situations, she graciously steps in, helps out, teaches others by sharing her knowledge, and always focuses on doing what is right for the patients. She truly shows she cares about patients, families, and her peers in the healthcare setting. With this nomination comes much admiration for who Kerri is as a caregiver and a person. Kerri's actions create a feeling of respect and camaraderie amongst all units so that together we can strive for the best patient outcomes.
Nomination #2
I want to take a moment to recognize Kerri for her unwavering dedication and fierce advocacy for her patients. In several critical situations, she went above and beyond, exhausting every possible intervention to give her patients the best fighting chance. Her compassion, quick thinking, and relentless efforts exemplify what it means to be a nurse.
Kerri cared for patients on two separate occasions whose conditions required intensive critical thinking, fast action, and determination. She knew that both individuals needed to be taken to imaging, despite their unstable status, to gain the clarity needed for the next steps in care. Because of her quick decisions, both patients were able to be treated for internal bleeding and stabilized. They were eventually transferred to the medical surgical floor within days. Her instincts and actions made a profound difference in their outcomes.
I am constantly astounded by how intelligent and steadfast Kerri is. Simply put, her actions have a powerful impact not only on patient outcomes but on family support, trust, and overall team morale. When families witness Kerri advocating fiercely for their loved ones, it provides reassurance that everything possible is being done.
Kerriās leadership, critical thinking, and resilience in difficult moments continue to inspire the entire ICU team. Her presence brings confidence and compassion to every shift, and we are so grateful to have her on our team.
