April 2023 Honoree
Kerrianne Fuller, RN, BSN
Over these past several years, Kerrianne has worked through crisis after crisis making sound critical decisions and leading the emergency department during some of the worst events we have ever faced. Kerrianne stepped into the role as a strong clinical nurse and has developed into a confident compassionate leader. Although Kerrianne is clinically sound, it is her ability to stay calm and intervene during a patient or family crisis that makes her stand out as a charge nurse who provides extraordinary care with understanding and compassion. Last year she intervened in a difficult highly charged situation where the family members perceived our care and services as less than welcoming. Kerrianne was able to quickly move the family from the location and de-escalate the incident. She listened and validated the concerns voiced by the family without making judgments. Her actions were instrumental in ensuring the patient received the care they so desperately needed. Kerrianne’s actions on this evening are not unique, as she often recognizes patients and family members under extreme stress and intervenes to ensure the patient and or family members are treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Albert Einstein said, "Only a life lived in service to others is worth living". Kerrianne’s actions embody this saying as she works to make a positive difference in every life she touches.
Thank you, Kerrianne, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
