Kerrie Weaver has been asked repeatedly over the years to orient new staff as well as precept the 4th year students in an internship. When the internship is completed, Kerrie always gathers staff to celebrate the accomplishment of completing the program. Many have gone on to work on our unit as RNS as they pass their nursing boards.
Kerrie has been described by many as one of the kindest nurses they have had the privilege of working with. She is also one of the funniest; one co-worker says how fortunate they were to precept with Kerrie as a nurse, as she became the nurse this new grad wanted to emulate because she was so kind and compassionate.
Kerrie is one of those people that everyone loves. The staff describes her as amazing in taking care of her patients and their families through all types of situations. She is smart and shares her knowledge with everyone she meets. Kerrie always jumps in to help and never asks for anything in return.
Of the many nurses that Kerrie has precepted, they all agree that everyone who has oriented with Kerrie has come out stronger as a nurse. She has all the qualities of a true leader.
