If you looked up the word nurse in the dictionary, you would find Kerry's picture. Kerry was making a visit to see an infant of a single mom with very little support at home. She found the mom in tears, wondering why she went through having this baby. Kerry sat and talked with the mom and reassured her. Mom said she was tired and had not had a shower in a few days. Kerry picked up the infant, sat on the sofa, started feeding the baby, and told mom to take a shower. Mom did and felt a lot better when she returned.

I have received several comments from other moms of our little patients, letting me know how they feel about Kerry.  

One mom said, "Kerry was amazing. She gave me helpful tips on concerns and never made me feel uninformed. I trusted her. She was sweet enough to pretend to care for my other child's baby dolls, checked the doll's heart, and weighed her."

Another mom commented, "Kerry is a knowledgeable nurse, truly cares for her patients, and is always available for questions. Kerry gave me so much peace of mind and was the support I needed, and my daughter needed to recover successfully at home after her heart surgery."

Kerry is very deserving of a DAISY Award.
