Today, we honor our very first DAISY Nurse Leader Awardee since implementing the program at the Medical Center. We recognize Kerry Sue Mueller for the extraordinary compassion she extends to patients, families, and caregivers, and the leadership she has provided to create an environment of unparalleled compassion on her unit.
Kerry Sue's leadership of the MICU has provided the staff space, growth, and encouragement to create compassionate programs for patients and each other. The MICU team has established tangible programs to express their care and compassion for each of their patients. Whether it is creating a quiet moment to honor a patient's passing or implementing a staff program called Look at How Cool I Am, Kerry Sue's leadership, skill, and ability have contributed to the encouraging the team to innovate these programs. Her compassionate heart has encouraged us every step of the way.
