Entering the Avera Infusion Center for the first time made us all feel a little apprehensive. We knew we had a long day ahead of us. God definitely placed the most amazing nurse with us. She was friendly, kind, caring, smart, compassionate, helpful, and most of all, optimistic! Kersten welcomed us with a heartfelt smile and put our nerves to rest immediately. She explained to us what was planned for the day, explained everything she did, and made it all very easy to understand. Her bedside manner is EXCELLENT. Throughout the day Kersten would not only check on us medically, but she checked on our spirit, and any other need we may have. Her medical knowledge is only part of what makes her an Extraordinary Nurse: it's the small things combined that she did that meant the world to a family and that is who and what made our day -- an Extraordinary Nurse named Kersten!
