His compassionate and caring bedside manner also put my mother and myself at ease.
When I started getting phone calls from the trauma physicians notifying me of my mom’s injuries from the automobile accident, I was heartbroken and a thousand miles away in Florida! One of the first voices I heard from the nursing staff on the surgical ICU floor where my mother was moved to was the voice of Nicole. I will never forget feeling so scared and helpless after hearing about my 75-year-old mother’s ten broken ribs and sternum. I felt so disconnected from my mother’s care, being so far from home, but right away, Nicole put me at ease by updating me by phone about my mom. I will also never forget the morning of Mom’s surgery when Nicole notified me of the details of her surgery time. There is a good chance I wouldn’t have been able to see my mom before surgery had it not been for Nicole. That would have been devastating for me. Nicole, your level of communication with me was excellent, and it reassured me that my mom was in a place that really cared for her and me.

Kevin was my mom’s daytime nurse. From the moment I met him after arriving I will never forget how he made me feel. His compassionate and caring bedside manner also put my mother and myself at ease. I knew from his professionalism and quality care the way he cared for my mom meant my mom would be ok and recover.

As I sit here looking at my mom who is now sitting up and talking about the future, I know Kevin and Nicole have played a large role in her recovery. Kevin, god bless the mother that raised you. You are an angel on earth.
