Kevin is a DAISY Nurse Leader because he doesn’t only lead in words but in action. He is always there to support us, whether it be with managerial tasks, covering as a charge nurse, or even working the floor alongside staff nurses. He also advocates for his team by branching the gap between management and staff nursing; so, we may continue providing the best care for our patients and their loved ones. He goes above and beyond for our unit and everyone in it. He also proves that he is a leader through his passion for nursing education. His passion shines through in helping personally train new nurses on the unit, developing new policies and standards for patient care in our unit, and even educating future nurses as a clinical lead through Mercy College. A true leader leads by example, and that is what he does. He inspires his team and future nurses to be the best that we can be. For all these reasons and many more, he is overly deserving of this distinguished DAISY Nurse Leader Award.
