I am a nurse working with Kevin and we had a patient on the floor who needed a lot of attention. One of those patients who took the whole floor to keep eyes on him. This patient had asked all day for a long sleeve white t-shirt. Of course, we didn't have a white long sleeve t-shirt. Towards the end of our shift, this patient all of the sudden had a white long sleeve t-shirt on, he was as happy as could be. Come to find out, Kevin took his white long sleeve t-shirt off and gave it to the patient. The patient made a point to tell everyone that he got his white long sleeve t-shirt. It made his world. Just imagine if we worked with co-workers every day who would give the patient the shirt off of their back. hands down, I would vote to work with him every day! You didn't hear a peep out of Kevin about his giving of his shirt, he just did it and kept quiet about it. Kevin also had a patient in my room. I had the wife and he had the husband. My patient (wife) had a bed alarm and Kevin caught her trying to get in bed with her husband. He just handled it like it was no problem, redirected her to her own bed which wasn't easy because she didn't speak English, he helped and that was it, no stress, just did it. he is an awesome RN hands down.
