Kevin Turner was nominated for the DAISY Award by a coworker. In the nomination she explained how thankful she was that Kevin was working on the day a "code blue" was called on her grandfather here at SLH. Kevin explained to her the events leading up to the code and also offered to care for her patients for the rest of the night so that she could stay with her grandfather. Later that morning Kevin even thought enough to follow up with her to check on her grandfathers status. She wrote,

"I can't describe how humbled this act of kindness made me feel. Kevin did this without hesitation. This was one of the nicest gestures I have encountered. No one prompted him to do this, it was just natural for him to offer. All of the small gestures he did made me feel more relaxed and at ease with the situation so that I could focus on the most important thing, my grandpa."
