Being a truly respected role model in professionalism, knowledge, communication skills, attendance to minor details, and leadership abilities makes Khalid indeed a DAISY Nurse Leader.
Khalid joined the King Hussein Cancer Center in 2008; he is working as a senior nurse manager of the Medical and Medical-Surgical 4th units, who has a solid commitment to excellence and extraordinary patient care. He is such a great nurse leader, kind, and cooperative. He is also accessible to his patients' and nurses' requests. His attention to all details and overall compassion are truly evident in his work.

Khalid provided maximum help to all nurses, healthcare providers, and other employees during his daily work. In addition, he provided exceptional support to newly hired nurses. He makes the most challenging situation seem fixable in a complex health work environment. Khalid has a transformational leadership style. He encouraged staff feedback to improve the quality of care provided so that every voice is heard. He is open to ideas/suggestions for quality improvement, employee engagement, and work environment improvement.

He supported and facilitated many nursing initiatives and projects focused on patient safety and quality indicators improvement. He also ensures that these initiatives/projects are successfully completed on time. He also actively participated in one of the Evidence-Based Practice projects to introduce a closed system device with central line catheters. Khalid is professional, approachable, and a compassionate nurse leader.

In 2021, six nurses were recognized with DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in the Medical and Medical-Surgical 4th units. Patients and their family members nominated those nurses because they went above and beyond the call of duty. This team exemplified the nursing values of compassion, respect, advocacy, and excellence. Khalid is a well-educated nurse and can positively affect his team. He trained and mentored many nurse successors for potential nurse leaders in the Medical and Medical-Surgical 4th units and other nursing services.
