We are honored to nominate Khanh (Ken) Nguyen for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. During one of the most challenging times in our lives, Ken provided exceptional care and compassion while our daughter, who was hospitalized for the removal of a SPEN tumor from her pancreas, and required the Whipple Procedure to restore her digestive functions.

Throughout the night shifts, Ken demonstrated not only outstanding clinical skills but also an unparalleled level of empathy and kindness. His attentiveness to our daughter's needs was evident in every interaction, whether it was managing her pain, monitoring her vital signs, or simply offering comforting words during moments of fear and uncertainty.

Ken consistently went above and beyond, ensuring that our daughter felt safe, heard, and cared for. He took the time to explain procedures in a way that was both informative and reassuring, which greatly alleviated our family's anxiety. His gentle demeanor and warm presence created a sense of calm in the hospital room, transforming it from a place of worry to one of hope and healing.

What stood out the most was Ken's ability to connect on a personal level. He not only attended to our daughter's physical well-being but also provided words of encouragement to nurture her emotional health that always brought a genuine smile to her face, even in the toughest moments. Ken’s dedication extended to us as parents, offering support, answering our endless questions with patience, and providing a shoulder to lean on when we needed it most.

His extraordinary care made a profound impact on our family and on our daughter, and we will forever be grateful for his role in our daughter's journey to recovery.
