My son was hospitalized due to complications from RSV and an asthma crisis. He remained in the hospital for 11 days. While the entire facility provided excellent care, our nurse, Khayandra Tapuro, stood out for her exceptional support and understanding of my son's needs. My son is autistic and requires level 3 support. He struggled with the treatment process, experiencing trauma from the use of gloves and needles and the presence of medical staff around him. Khayandra Tapuro made a significant difference. She consistently went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable. My son only accepted treatment and evaluations from her. Khayandra showed remarkable respect for his sensory needs and introduced herself in a calm and respectful manner, which made a profound impact. While I am grateful to all the providers and nurses who cared for my son, I am especially thankful to Khayandra for her deep understanding and compassion towards him.
