Kia showed determination, respect, and compassion in a difficult situation.
Kia showed extraordinary care despite the odds against her. She faced a very difficult patient who constantly yelled derogatory slurs at her while demanding constant medications and care. She held her composure and was very respectful to the patient despite his actions. She continued to thoroughly explain all medications and care and continued to make sure the patient was safe. Despite the odds, Kia showed determination, respect, and compassion in a difficult situation. She demonstrated what is it like to be an RN. She showed tremendous courage while caring and advocating for the patient. She inspired the entire unit.

Kia was very concerned and compassionate making sure I was as comfortable as I could be. She made sure that every test that could be taken was very informative. She was concerned and gentle when she gave dialysis on me. I feel that this nurse is awesome!
