Kiana was an outstanding nurse during my husband's hospital stay. He was very scared and could be difficult. He is a smoker in a non-smoking facility. He was faced with an unplanned surgery. He was very anxious about making this unpredictable decision, especially knowing his state of mind was clouded by his nerves. She was stern to the policy but also very understanding to his needs. She talked to the doctor several times until they got him leveled out. She also showed him she genuinely cared about his overall health. She tried to influence him to think about quitting and gave him information without being too pushy. He actually tried for several days to quit after leaving, so she did plant a seed. He may have to try several more times before he succeeds. Before this, he had NO intentions of trying to quit. He had several awesome people care for him. Kiana was his predominant caregiver & the "one" courageous enough to tell him the stuff he did NOT want to hear, but she did it with a caring heart, which made it easier to receive. Thank you sweet lady. Keep up the good work and keep your sweet heart. Patients can seem so difficult when they are scared and sick. Always look beyond their fears and see the good inside. Even on the hard days.
