I was admitted to the hospital because of a serious ear infection. By the time I made it to my room and was placed under Kiana's care, I was sore and couldn't hear anything anyone was saying. Even though I've dealt with a significant hearing loss for over a decade, it's this type of situation that can be very scary when you can't hear.

Kiana saw me struggling to hear and getting so frustrated that I was in tears. I noticed she had walked out, but didn't think anything of it. When she came back a few minutes later, she handed me a pair of hearing aids. When I put them on, I could hear everything! It had been so long since I could hear that, when I talked, I couldn't even recognize my own voice. She hugged me and cried with me, as I took in all of the sounds around me. This small gesture has 100% changed the quality of my life. Thanks to Kiana and this small gift. I am eternally grateful for you.
