Kiarra Jones, RN

My niece was recently transported from another area hospital for care in the NICU. Her mother was recovering from a c-section, so she was unable to go. Her main request was that someone would be there with her baby since she couldn't be. My family took turns sitting/sleeping in the waiting area. My mother was taking a shift, and Kiarra Jones stopped to ask if she was ok. She mentioned that she had seen my mom sitting there earlier, and she just wanted to make sure she didn't need anything. My mom called me and told me about the sweetest nurse who had stopped to talk to her. Later that day I went to be with my mother, and Kiarra came bearing snacks and drinks that she had purchased for us in the cafe downstairs. She told us her own story of how she was a preemie, and that's what led her to work with other preemie babies. She will never know what a bright spot she was for our family. Thankfully, my sweet niece is now home with her parents, and we are so thankful for the love and care of the staff of the NICU. Kiarra was our angel, and we will never forget her!
