Kidist kept me warm, shared parts of herself with me and kept me laughing during a time period where I just wanted to get the surgery over.
I am a notable freaky patient who becomes very nervous around doctors. I am not the best patient. I have to say Kidist was so kind, caring and helped me to relax and feel comfortable. She is passionate about being a nurse and her presence made me feel at ease before surgery. While I am still nervous, I feel so much better because of Kidist.

I came to get ready for surgery scheduled for 9:45 but did not go until 11:45. I came into the pre-op ready for the surgery. However, Kidist was not just working with me for the 2 hours I was supposed to there, but due to my surgeon's delay, she worked with me for 4 hours. Her kindness of keeping me comfortable, updated on what was going and keeping my family taken care of (getting them coffee), went well beyond her duties. She kept me warm, shared parts of herself with me and kept me laughing during a time period where I just wanted to get the surgery over. In fact, when it was her time to go to lunch, she postponed it just to see the status of my surgery, even though my new nurse was on duty and refused to get me that information.
Kidist exemplified a great nurse who went beyond the call of duty. She made those extra few hours of waiting (even though I worked) bearable and pleasant. I have had many nurses take care of me in the last 1.5 years due to numerous surgeries in other outpatient and inpatient settings, but she will always stand out as one of the best. She is an awesome nurse.
