I am honored to nominate Kiersten Bottoms from the Critical Care Unit at LCMC West Jefferson for her outstanding care and compassion during my time in the hospital. Her dedication, kindness, and professionalism made a significant impact on my recovery, and I truly believe she deserves recognition for her exceptional service. 

From the moment Kiersten began caring for me, I felt reassured and supported. Her ability to balance expert medical care with genuine empathy was remarkable. She took the time to explain my treatment plan in a way that eased my anxieties, ensuring I always felt informed and involved. Even during the most difficult moments, she remained a calming presence, offering not only skilled care but also emotional support that meant the world to me. 

One particular moment that stands out was when Kiersten noticed that my hair had become matted and tangled. Without hesitation, she offered to wash it for me. It may have seemed like a small gesture, but to me, it was everything. In that moment, she reminded me of what it felt like to have a bit of normalcy and dignity during a difficult time. She didn't have to go out of her way to do this, but she did - with kindness, patience, and without a second thought. It's acts like this that truly define what it means to be a nurse. 

Beyond her clinical expertise, Kiersten consistently showed a level of compassion that went above and beyond. Whether it was through her gentle words, a reassuring smile, or simply just taking the time to listen, she made me feel like more than just a patient - she treated me like a person. 

I cannot thank Kiersten Bottoms enough for her unwavering care, and I wholeheartedly believe she deserves this recognition. Her dedication to her patients and her profession is truly inspiring.
