My mother was to be discharged back to the nursing home on hospice where I would not be able to be with her. Kiersten went out and talked to the palliative care nurse and explained that I lived 300 miles away. Because of Kiersten, the palliative nurse contacted the Journey Home who had an opening for my mom to stay. Kiersten made it possible for me to be with my mom which was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Compassionate and caring aren't strong enough words for Kiersten.
