We will always remember Kiki and are forever grateful.
We owe a lot to Kiki Ho, I feel if it was not for her my father could have quickly taken a turn for the worse. It was his 5th day post CVA complicated with a heart arrhythmia needing cardioversion. He had made it out of the ICU. Kiki was his day nurse. Multiple doctors had made their rounds that day. Even myself, a 15 year ICU nurse thought his assessment was his evolving stroke and this was his new baseline. Kiki noticed a slight change in his grip to the left hand that was intermittent. This warranted a stat CT revealing cerebral edema. The neurologist stated "I almost spit my coffee out when I saw his CT" The fact that he looked as good as he did was deceiving of what was actually going on in his brain. I told the neurologist "that if it was not for Kiki we may not have caught a problem that needed immediate intervention." My father received mannitol and 3% saline for his brain swelling. Within 48hrs he had made drastic improvement. We are grateful for his new baseline and eager to start rehab. We will always remember Kiki and are forever grateful. I encourage her to pursue whatever goals she may have. She will for sure make a wonderful impact. Thank you!
