Kim Bales was honored with the DAISY Award for the extraordinary connection she made with a cardiac intensive care patient, who family members said she treated him as if she was his "loving daughter". The patient's real daughter wrote, "I am most grateful to her for taking care of my dad as I would have. Please recognize Kim for being all that a nurse should be."
