One of our patients called the ED to thank the great nurse who took care of him. The patient said he felt like he was dying, thinking he was having a heart attack, and Kim provided the compassion he needed to help calm him down. The patient stated she not only took care of his nursing needs but talked to him in a way that alleviated his fears. He said she excelled in her ability to help him understand what was happening and provided excellent discharge instructions as he was checking out.
