I work alongside Kim and am witness to her amazingly kind heart. Kim has a special place in her heart for babies born to addicted moms and their families. Her compassion goes beyond words. Today she spent a lot of time with a mom whose baby was born with NAS but also had some physical issues, a mom who made it very difficult to care for. Kim went down to Mom's room and was the only one Mom bonded with.
Kim started a bond with Mom and made her feel like someone cared and was able to deflate some scary issues. Kim is probably the most generous, non-judgmental, loving, caring, kindest person I know. I feel honored to know her and to work beside her. Another thing, and to me this is big - huge- despite her own financial difficulties, she purchases and sews onesies for our special babies she makes special blankets for our babies so that it feels less "medical" for our families and is making our "graduation gowns". She also makes special crafty gifts for her co-workers. Her sacrifices, along with her non-judgmental, compassionate ways, truly make her an angel here on earth.
