We had the fortune of having Kim as one of our day shift nurses during our 2+ week stay in the NICU recently. When you envision the ideal nurse to care for your baby you think of someone just like Kim. Calming, compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable. We felt at peace knowing she was looking after our daughter while we weren't there.
Kim also provided the perfect balance of support and education which empowered us to care for her as first-time parents (to a preemie). She was invested in her development as well and checked in even when not assigned to us that shift, celebrating wins, and consoling during setbacks. Kim truly sets the bar for the unit in nursing care. You need 10 more of her there! We are so thankful to have had her during our stay without a doubt we believe she exemplified what the DAISY Award stands for!
