I came into the ER with massive bleeding due to complications during a miscarriage. Kim immediately made me feel safe and as comfortable as possible. When she revealed that she used to be an OB nurse, I realized she was meant to walk in my room that night.
During one of the darkest moments in my life, she was there and holding my hand, cleaning me up, and explaining what was happening to me every step of the way. Kim was my guardian angel that night as my body worked to let go of my lost child.
Kim was the bright light during a very dark time!
I have been in several hospital settings between losing both my parents to cancer. So I now recognize exceptional care when I see it. To Kim, she was probably doing her job as it came to her naturally, but her care reflected how all nurses and doctors should be with their patients.
