Her approach made a real difference in my recovery, and I am truly grateful.
I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for having Nurse Kim as my healthcare provider during my recent stay at St. Clair in 2025. Initially, I was admitted to Floor 5 (Neuro, I believe) and later readmitted to Floor 4. Remarkably, Nurse Kim was the night nurse for both of my stays.

During this time, I understood that the hospital was nearly at full capacity. Despite this, Nurse Kim consistently took the time to check on me, even without being prompted. She always greeted me with a friendly and positive demeanor, and I never felt rushed or like I was just another task on her list. Throughout my stay, I required five transfusions, and my blood pressure typically needed careful management.

I was on three blood pressure medications to maintain a target range of 130/70. At the Hospitalist's request, we stopped all but Carvedilol. However, after taking Carvedilol at night, my blood pressure would drop to around 100/50, causing me significant symptoms. Nurse Kim recognized the issue and proactively suggested that the Carvedilol might be causing the drop in pressure. She double-checked with the Hospitalist, and he agreed with her assessment.

Nurse Kim's critical thinking, compassionate care, and intelligence were evident throughout my stay. She demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, always staying vigilant and attentive to my needs. Her approach made a real difference in my recovery, and I am truly grateful. As a retired small business owner, I would wholeheartedly recommend doing whatever it takes to keep Nurse Kim on staff! Her combination of skills, intellect, and empathy would be a tremendous asset to any team. I would hate to see her leave, as she is a truly exceptional nurse.
