Kim is the finest nurse leader that I have had the opportunity to work with.
When Kim first got here, she noticed how much we were all working, I was 300 hours shy of basically working two full time jobs, due to having to cover 24 hour call with only three nurses, in addition to our 40 hours a week of routine patient care. She immediately went to work to get us on-call nurses and I now work my regular 40 hours a week with minimal call.

On a call day when it was all I could do to stay afloat, she assisted me greatly by triaging incoming calls, and even went to see a patient and his wife.
***
She is always available to her staff and is responsive no matter how much she has on her plate,” wrote Palliative Care Business Support Coordinator Sara Patterson. Her passion for hospice and palliative care impacts the rest of our team and keeps us wanting to work hard toward the same goals.
***
Kim's supervisory skills encourage all disciplines in hospice to work together as a team. She displays all the characteristics that she asks her team to perform daily including giving a hundred percent. Kim is not afraid to get in the trenches and work side by side with her team teaching and demonstrating needed skills.
***
The Hospice Medical Director who has known and worked with Huffington for the past four years describes her as a “steady navigator” and calming force through times of rough seas where the emotions and stress of managing difficult situations can be taxing: “Kim is the finest nurse leader that I have had the opportunity to work with. Kim's ability to "see the whole" picture and effectively problem solve is remarkable. Her expertise coupled with her compassion to care for her staff and patients is exceptional."
