Kim-Hwa has shown to be an outstanding nurse over the years. She has proven to be a great role model by advocating for complex patients and their families with compassion. There was one instance in which a patient with a high risk for developing HAPI did not have any pressure injury prevention measure for about 5 shifts. Once she identified this need, she was very proactive and worked with the rest of the team from multiple disciplines to ensure the patient was provided with the best care possible. This is the behavior she shows every day contributing to a safer environment. In my rounds with patients, her name often comes up as someone who is highly responsive and attentive to her patients' needs.
We are lucky to have her be part of our team in the Ortho/Neuro Unit!
