March 2026 Honoree
Kim Lawicki, BSN, RN
My mom came in for an emergency blood clot surgery. I did not get here in time to see the ER doctor before we were sent up to pre-op. I asked Kim if she could sum up what was going on with my mom and what the surgical plan was for her.
Kim has an amazing bedside manner and took the time to explain what tests had been done, what was going on with my mom, and what the tentative plan was for the procedure. I was so thankful for her kind attitude and gentle spirit, taking the time to answer all of our questions before the surgery came and elaborated on the plan.
Kim was so kind. My mother and I were very emotional after speaking with the surgeon, and Kim did not shy away; she held my mom's hand with me and was present for us until we stopped crying.
Kim deserves every single award you have to offer. I appreciated that she did not appear to be rushed. She spoke in a relaxed and gentle tone, which helped calm us down and was not hurried to get to where she needed to be next.
Thank you, Kim!
