To say nurse Kim is a great nurse would be the biggest understatement of the century. She is absolutely amazing, thoughtful, caring, kind, and has a wonderful sense of humor (laughter is the best medicine after all). Her empathy and care she showed me are at a level that cannot be taught, either you have it or you don’t. Nurse Kim has it and more! Her ability to reassure you that this will be OK and you will get through this was everything my heart and mind needed. She has a calming effect about her even in the most chaotic situations (I tested that theory so you’ll have to take my word for it).

Her truthfulness and reassuring words are the hope and honesty every patient needs. I never had to wait long for a response or for a need to be met, she was always there and ready to help me with a smile on her face. I felt like a human, not just a patient in a bed or somebody just being treated. I felt heard, I felt listened to, and I felt completely cared for.

Her amazingness doesn’t just stop at her level of care. It’s a complete understanding of her job and the experiences she brings with it to make it a better stay for her patients when she performs her duties. She was also able to team with my doctor to switch a medication that would be easier on my system than what the doctor was proposing. By taking the time to do this, I was able to rest continuously instead of having to be woken up for multiple treatments throughout the night. Having the doctor switch the treatment to oral medication instead of IVs made everything a lot smoother for me and way less stressful on my body. It made the whole experience better by just taking the time to do that for me on her own, there’s no way I would’ve known the difference. That may seem like a small thing but when you’re exhausted, tired, in pain, scared, and worried It’s huge. Thank you, Nurse Kim! Thank you - just doesn’t seem enough! You are amazing!
