My wife and I were in the hospital far earlier than we expected for the birth of our son. We experienced a stillbirth at 20 weeks and if that wasn't enough to deal with, my wife was battling HELLP syndrome. Our world had been turned upside down. We were trying to grieve and were scared about my wife's health all at the same time. We were so blessed that Kim was our nurse for 3 different shifts during our 5 day stay in the hospital. She showed so much tenderness in her care of my wife. She was our 'Mother' figure who didn't need to leave. Kim helped us make sense of what was going on... she shoo'd a room full of doctors when they lingered a little too long in the room and it was clear my wife was becoming a little overwhelmed. She cried with us when we were sad and laughed with us when we found reason to smile.
When our daughter came to visit, she wanted to know where Kim was going when she left the room and felt comfortable to go with her to get a teddy bear. Kim drew a bath for my wife in the birthing tub, providing us with the Bronson 'Spa Experience.' Her care and passion for nursing is genuine and special. During a time of emotional and physical pain, Kim was our everything. All of the nurses during our stay were outstanding, but Kim was special. She deserves praise and recognition for what an amazing person and nurse she is.
