Kim Shelton, RN

Kim consistently, somehow, takes excellent care of her patients and nurses. When the department is short, she comes in on her day off in addition to her directorial duties. Kim often runs the board and is the first contact a patient has when entering the department. She rapidly assesses and triages everyone as they come in. She sets reasonable expectations and updates the WR so that everyone is aware of correct delays and wait times. Kim does all this with a smile on her face and a fierce passion for the department and nursing as a whole, even when patients are less than understanding. Kim defines leading by example and is willing to do anything for her coworkers. She is a blessing to the Emergency Department and Mercy Hospital St Louis.
