Kim Short, a Nursing Attendant from Patient Care Unit 53, is one of the DAISY Nurses for August at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Unit 53 is a medical unit specializing in stroke care. Kim, was nominated by a patient who stated that as soon as she saw Kim's face she knew that she could relax, as she would be cared for completely. Kim's calmness and communication skills ensured that the patient felt safe and cared for thoughout her stay. Kim looked after not only her physical needs but her emotional needs as well, as she was very anxious about her medical condition.
