Kim Thistlewaite was nominated by her patient. The patient stated that Thistlewaite always has her treatment plan scheduled and provides guidance on where she needs to go for certain care services, which doctor she will be seeing, and any medication she should be taking. To that point, Thistlewaite ensures the patient fully understands her treatment plan and goes above and beyond to answer any questions and provide support. 

“When I was having difficulty with payments, she had MaineHealth Financial Counseling reach out to me, and we worked out a payment plan. When I could not afford the medication, she connected me with Maine Health Financial again, and we submitted an application to Merck for assistance. Last winter, during chemo, I was really sick from the side effects. I really needed fluids after chemo, and Kim arranged it so I could go to Scarborough and have an IV of fluids one week after each chemo treatment. She always returns my phone calls, always checks up to see how I am doing after chemo, and always listens and hears what I am saying.  I would not have been able to get this far without Kim's help."
