Where do we start! From the moment we got to the floor, Kim was so helpful and kind. She is so bubbly and happy when she walks into the room – it lifts your spirit. She was encouraging and supportive through the whole process. She spent extra time explaining what was going to take place during and after his heart surgery. She knew we were in total shock of the outcome of the heart cath. Her words of encouragement and compassion went far beyond just being a nurse. We have found a new friend. She was off the day of his surgery but offered to come and stay with him if it would make us feel more at ease. She put her cell phone number in my phone just in case we needed her. I called her several times to ask questions or advice. We had been doing a lot of joking, and she brought a gift and gave it to him to brighten his day. She goes way beyond being a nurse. She was considerate of his privacy when prepping him for his procedure. She is just so compassionate. She cried along with us when we found out the news of open-heart surgery. She was so assuring that Dr. "G" was the best. A nurse can be just a nurse, but Kim goes the extra mile to help (whatever the need is). She was put in our path to help us through this journey. She was such a blessing to us. A true nurse has a heart for her patients.
