Over the last year, our clinic has been hit with several nursing vacancies. As everyone knows, nursing positions have been very hard to fill. Our breast surgeon was unfortunate enough to lose both her primary nurse as well as her LPN. In the absence of any staff to support the breast surgeon, Kim Tindall, the clinical nurse supervisor, stepped into the role (actually both roles) of primary clinical RN to allow this clinic to continue to run smoothly in the absence of a dedicated support team. This role not only includes being the provider's primary nurse, it also includes ensuring that patients are scheduled for surgery, authorizations are complete, and any other pre-surgical needs are met. Without Kim stepping into this role, our breast cancer patients would not have received the high-quality, personalized care that we are accustomed to providing. Kim has been able to manage all of the needs of our many breast patients while still ensuring that all of her clinical supervisor requirements and duties are met. Her attention to detail, not only in her clinical supervisor role but especially in the role of primary nurse, is without reproach. She manages multiple needs for each patient while still managing to be a smiling face to every patient that she comes in contact with. She makes it her goal to get to know each patient and understand their unique needs. She has been mentioned on multiple Medallia surveys. As Kim's leader, I can honestly say that she is one of the hardest working nurses I have ever met. She goes above and beyond what is required of her daily, never settling for less than her very best. She gives her all to her team and to every patient that comes into our clinic. The team and the patients at LCI Rock Hill are lucky to have her.
