January 2016 Honoree
kim vien, BSN, RN
My nurse, Kim Vien, was amazing. From the time I was wheeled in the door she was on her job; she introduced herself to me and other staff that was with her. She was extremely kind to me and made me feel special and comfortable, almost like I was at home, but I knew I was still in the hospital.
Kim was always on time even when I knew she had other patients to tend to. I guess she's that good at her job that she makes you feel like the only one, but I know she was giving everyone her undivided attention. She's really sweet, kind of reminds me of a daisy flower. I wouldn't trade my nurse for anything. She was really understanding and compassionate and explained my procedure to the fullest, then asked me also if I understood my surgical procedure. I was a bit afraid but after talking with her, how could I be afraid anymore?
Kim also reassured my boyfriend that it was okay even though he didn't really want to say he was just as scared as I was, but with nurse Kim to the rescue who could be scared anymore. Thank you, Kim, for everything. Our Superwoman!
